Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc
deepened its commitment to the U.S. financial industry,
announcing a $4.02 billion stake in JPMorgan Chase & Co
and new investments in PNC Financial Services Group Inc
and Travelers Companies Inc, plus a stake in Oracle Corp
Grocery delivery startup Instacart raised
an extra $271 million in November from investors including U.S.
hedge fund Tiger Global Management, bringing its latest round of
fund raising to $871 million, a source familiar with the matter
Paulson & Co, led by longtime
gold bull John Paulson, kept its stake in gold investments
during the third quarter of 2018 while other heavyweights
including Soros Fund Management LLC, Jana Partners LLC and
Caxton Corp remained unexposed to the metal.
Increased regulation of U.S.
technology companies is one of the biggest risks to a sector
that has led stocks higher, potentially derailing the market's
near-decade-long bull run if it suffers a sustained selloff.
